Kat Knappers Cat Club was ‘Feline a Lot Like Christmas’

Our second show was our best show ever! As expected things were better in every way due to it not being our first show ever and we’re much happier with the experience and the results.

Thank you to everyone at Saturday’s super fantastic TICA show in Arcadia. Having a room to work in is so much comfier than we’d imagined, the pace went better, and the cats really performed!

Here are some of the fun shots of the day.

Tomorrow’s Show!

All set for tomorrow’s show! Trying a completely different set up than at the Poinsettia Show after extensive testing this week. We’re so glad that first show is out of the way and we’re looking forward to using everything we’ve learned to do it even better this time!

We’re inspired by the idea of using cat photography to help needy cats. As with the last show we’re donating 100% of the sitting fee to less fortunate cats in the rescue system, we refund 100% of the sitting fee upon request, we’ll have special opportunities for some lucky cats to receive free sittings throughout the day and one downloadable image is included with every cat’s sitting so there’s no way to lose at the Furtography booth.

See us tomorrow in Arcadia.

Earl Miller Furtography Books First TICA Show

Most Photogenic Cat of Show Winners!

For the final part of the Most Photogenic Announcement I’ll start with the First Place Winner (who will be awarded an 8×10)

Whitworth's Charming Cherokee

Whitworth’s Charming Cherokee – Most Photogenic of Show – She’s a naturally inspiring performer who exudes confidence and personality with the uncanny ability to strike dynamic poses. She has exquisite control of her body and she’s so cute! This four-month-old is already sporting a fun tail!

Pattinchat Pippy Galore of Fujicats

Pattnchat Pippy Galore of Fujicats – 2nd Most Photogenic of Show – This darling of the stage and ring had a big day Saturday. We were honored she had a moment with us. Due to her busy ring schedule her session was the shortest of all but her shots stood out as she was a skilled and efficient model with more than a dozen excellent shots to show for it. (I know we didn’t say we’d award a second place but we’ll get you a 4×6)

Kaikatsu Defying Gravity of La Grip

Kaikatsu Defying Gravity of La Grip – 3rd Most Photogenic of Show – This cat was deserving of a special mention because of his dramatic expressions. He has star quality and a lot to say. (I know we didn’t say we’d award a third place either but we’ll get you a 4×6 too)

Most Photogenic Cat of Show Honorable Mentions

The announcement we’ve all been waiting for… part one!

The final selections are getting cropped and put to a site for you to make your choices from so we can get links to each of Saturday’s participants. Today is the day Earl announces his favorite performers of the show. In this post I’ll put the outstanding cats that were in the running for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd most photogenic.

Calicats Kaspurr

Darling Purs Syrah

Tzigane's Albus D'dore

Whitworth's Stunning Sequoia

Edits have been made!

The keepers have been selected! Now on to getting them cropped up cute!

The contenders for most photogenic cat are so strong that Earl has decided to select 2nd and 3rd place winners also. At least he’s narrowing it down!

Also, we met this guy on Saturday and he’s looking for a great home! If you’ve got a comfy spot for him let us know and we’ll put you in touch with his agent.

Post Cat Show

Today was a dream come true for us. Earl has long dreamed of combining his passion for cats with his photography career and The Poinsettia City Club made that possible at their show today in Glendale.

It was an unforgettable experience and we are grateful for the fabulous owners who allowed us to tease and pose their fabulous felines. The highlight of the show for us was the opportunity to give back to the cat rescue community by providing photography that we hope will help find some precious kitties forever homes.

We’ve now experienced a cat show as photographer, stocked up on a new collection of cat toys and teasers, and donated to cats in need. Mission Accomplished!

Now that the cat show has ended another part of our work begins.

Next, we’ll be sorting images and sending links to images out by email to participants throughout this week as quickly as we get the images prepared.

The big announcement coming – Earl’s Most Photogenic Cat of Show (recipient of a free 8×10) will be displayed on this site Tuesday!

We’ve added an enrollment page for those who wish to pre-register their cats for photography and we’re looking forward to meeting many new feline friends.
